Accessibility

Accommodating people with disabilities is the right thing to do. We've yet to hear a cogent argument against it. Several businesses have been threatened with lawsuits for a website that is not compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act. In every single case, there has been an expensive settlement. We don't want this to happen to you. We've partnered with AccessiBe for implementation.*

* We recognize that overlay applications, like AccessiBe, come with challenges and are a hot-button issue today. Some businesses have found relief in them as a good-faith effort to address accessibility after facing an expensive legal challenge. Others have faced legal challenges even after adding an overlay, plugin or widget to their site with good intentions. It doesn’t help that the founder of AccessiBe hasn’t been the nicest guy.

Overlays, plugins, and widgets are not a perfect solution. Truthfully, there isn’t a perfect solution or an affordable one for small businesses. That is why we continue to offer AccessiBe and let you decide how to address the issue for your business. If being intentional about accessibility is essential, our AccessiBe option is available.

Here is the heart of the issue: The Americans with Disabilities Act predates the Internet as we know it. We support the proposed software and web accessibility legislation currently in the US Congress. Just because the ADA applies to websites does not mean the current law is clearly applicable.
